 Zechariah’s prayers were being answered, but he could not believe it. He doubted. When we pray, what is our level of anticipation of God’s goodness? How do we anticipate answers to our prayers?

Mary’s response to the angel’s message was one of wonderment,

humility, and maturity beyond her years. What are we called to that will stretch us beyond our understanding and wisdom? How can we model the same faith in God’s call for us that Mary expressed?

Both Mary and Zechariah praised God for His goodness, His blessing,

and His faithfulness in walking with them. What do we praise God for within our daily lives? What uncommon occurrences does God bless us with? How and when do we praise His name?

whom His favor rests.” Those were the words the angels sang. How does the story of Jesus’ birth resonate with us today? How are we blessed and challenged by the familiar story we have heard so many times?

Simeon and Anna were blessed by God with the opportunity to meet

the baby Jesus in the temple. How would their interactions have blessed Joseph and Mary? Of what significance was it for Jesus to be presented at the temple by his parents?

                  The Light Grows

As Jesus grew in stature and wisdom, he knew in whose presence he

was to place himself. Where do we place ourselves to grow in the stature and wisdom that God has planned for us? Do we commit ourselves to be part of and grow the Kingdom of God? Do we commit ourselves to identify and be an active part of “our Father’s business”?
